We are a rural Presbyterian Church located at 31 Main Street, Taylorstown PA
While our current building was established in December of 1993, our congregation has a rich history of worship and service in this community for well over 100 years. We are a SMALL church that believes God is using to do BIG things for his kingdom, our community, & his glory.

We believe that life, freedom, & fellowship with God, is found through faith in the Lord Jesus alone. We love and lift high the Savior!

Relying On The Scriptures

We believe that the Bible is the only infallible authority for the church, our families, & our individual lives. We try our best to learn and teach the Scriptures faithfully.

A Heart For Others

We pride ourselves in being a warm, & welcoming home for the weary children of God. We strive to serve our neighbors through acts of kindness & hospitality and by sharing the good news we find in Jesus.

Our Leadership

Our Pastor: Rev. Clayton LaPosta

Hello! My name is Clayton LaPosta. I’m 32 years old and was born and raised in the Tylerdale neighborhood of Washington. I graduated from Washington High School in 2010, Geneva College with a bachelor’s degree in Student Ministry in 2014, and the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary with my Master of Divinity degree in the spring of 2023.

While my faith in the Lord Jesus is the most important aspect of my life now, that hasn’t always been the case. I didn’t grow up in the church, but luckily I had folks in my life, especially my grandmother, who taught and modeled the Christian life in a really impactful way. 

At some point during high school, the Lord called me to a genuine, saving faith, and I have trusted in him ever since. For the past six years I have served as the Student Pastor here at Taylorstown Presbyterian and I was ordained and installed in November 2024. Serving and knowing the people of this church has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. 

God has also blessed me with the most incredible and supportive wife, Leslie (Shipman) and our wonderful 3-year-old son, Gianni (plus one on the way!) In my free time I like to watch and follow our local and professional sports teams  (plus my beloved Florida Gators), fish, cook, read (specifically Reformed Theology and Church/Presbyterian history), play the occasional video game, and just spend time with other people. 

One thing you’ll quickly learn is that there really isn’t anything extraordinary about me. I am a great sinner loved by an even greater God. I do, however love the Lord, his church, and his Word. And luckily for me, God has a history of using ordinary people to do great things for his glory.

So as we begin this journey together, I am so excited to serve you all and to see how the good news of our great Savior can transform this community.

Our Session:

A Session in the Presbyterian Church is made up of Elders, elected by the congregation to lead and serve the church. 
Those currently serving on our Session are: Jennifer Rush, Cheryl Cunningham, Ron Dobscha, Tom Vanatta, Diane Dombrowski, Darlene Headley, Kandi Harrison, Nancy Blodgett, & Bonnie Popso.

Our Organist: Ron Dobscha 

Ron has been a faithful member of our church for many years. He uses his God given gifts to lead us in worship through song every Sunday. He also serves our sister church, North Buffalo Presbyterian as their organist. Ron works full-time as a bus driver for both the Canon-Mac school district and GG&C. We've been blessed to have someone like Ron and we invite you to come and hear him play on our newly installed organ.
